In my defence, your honour, I would argue that it is colloquial use.
I feel the double “are” in “All the colours, as are, are fine for me” makes the sentence stumble a bit. I suppose I could just as well have omitted “as is” all together.
How about: “The original colour scheme is okay, as far as I’m concerned.”. (Yes, I know about the two full points separated by quotes, but it was how I was taught!)
