Someone in the Russian defence ministry, commenting on the accidental bombing of a Russian city, has a choice of language comparable to that of Elon Musk (?) — ”There was no explanation for the bombing other than what it described as an "abnormal descent of aviation ammunition"”. www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-65344370.
I have no why idea why an Australian organisation should further pluralise “pastizzi” (indeed, I had never heard of a pastizz) but it seems to be following the pattern of further pluralising “panini” by adding an S which has become the standard British advertisement for the bread roll sandwiches originating in Italy. As you will expect, I often draw people’s attention to this solecism but most people don’t believe me and don’t care. Also ‘Arrrgh’.
I have just noticed that Dave Miller has beaten me to the quotation from the Russian defence ministry, but I will leave my post as I include the link.

Whilst Dame Edna was amusing, I always felt a special kinship with Sir Les. A man after my own heart.
