I was brought up to put the apostrophe after my name, because of the two end syllables having an s sound,eg Frances' book. So should it not therefore be Jesus' book , unlike the example you give on your "simple" website?

Hello Frances. I'm not sure what "your simple website" refers to, but there is an FAQ about names here: not-the-aps.proboards.com/thread/30/2-namesIn that post I used the example of Tess, and mentioned that Tess's or Tess' are both widely used, and both entirely acceptable. A useful rule might be "write what you say": I'd say "Tessiz" so I'd write Tess's. How do you pronounce Frances' ?
