8. PRONOUNS
Personal pronouns (I, me, my, mine and so on) show possessive case by use of a different word, not by use of apostrophe-s:
The man ate his dinner. The woman ate her dinner. The dog ate its dinner.
It's is short for it is or it has.
There's no such word as its' .
Other pronouns use apostrophe-s as normal:
One should choose one's words carefully. It's everyone's responsibility. Is this chair somebody's?
