Sellafield power station was once managed by the reassuringly named Con Allday.
Colin Fair and Colin Flood used to work for the Met Office, and even shared an office at one stage!
And I once heard of a book called The Bog People by C.V. Glob.

"The Bog People" by C.V. Glob I have a copy, and very interesting it is. The author, in his defence, is Danish. ( Glob = globe.) Sue

I'm not sure if it's deterministic but one of the German players in the current Euro 2008 football (soccer) tournament has the surname Fritz.

But surely Fritz is a vernacular name for a German BECAUSE so many Germans are called Fritz.
Sort of "short circuits" the specialness.

Tone, you oblige me to confess that it is not my tootsies gracing my avatar but a pic I filched 'cos I liked it. Anyway, see the 'rambling thread' about it being nice with a change of avatar. If Twod can, so can I. TfS

Tone, you oblige me to confess that it is not my tootsies gracing my avatar<Well, obviously not -- in relation to my comment, at least. And not the answer that I expected to provoke. Think again about that which I (enigmatically) wrote. Tone

it is not my tootsies gracing my avatar I thought, and said, as much elsewhere! I should have read this first, of course. Sue

It apears, Sue, that you have well-and-truly "put your foot in it". ;D

It appears, Sue, that you have well-and-truly "put your foot in it". Yes, unlike TfS, who seems to have put somebody else's foot in it. Sue
