A learned (not!) quotation from the NSW Education Minister (perhaps not for much longer!):
Reflexive pronoun notwithstanding, perhaps the fellow has a split personality - or a huge ego (the latter is commonly accepted as fact).

He's a politician: if his lips were moving he must have been lying, anyway. ;D

And a family separate from his wife!

Reflexive pronoun or not, the (former) minister has now been stood down from his post (for being a bully-boy, a thug, and a perjurer). Perhaps now he'll have time for further reflexion.

And a family separate from his wife! What's so strange about that, Dave? Don't all politicians have two families to go with their two wives (or one wife and 1 mistress)? (and, of course, two expense accounts!) The alter ego is merely personal justification, that whilst ego "a" is performing his marital duties with wife "a", ego "b" is performing any duties he wishes (as long as wife "a" doesn't find out!) with wife "b" (mistress "a"). I hope I make myself and I clear! ;D
