I have expressed the view that no-one should take it seriously.

I have commented several times and, in particular, on the anonymity. On the one occasion that I have slited someone I have said so, and told them why. Ditto when exalting them.

I fail to understand why anyone would even notice their own, or others', status in either karma or membership - let alone comment on it.

I fail to understand why anyone would even notice their own, or others', status in either karma or membership - let alone comment on it. May I express my opinion on this matter? In fact, don't answer that, I'm going to anyway. People take an interest in this, just as they take an interest in anything, because, it in itself, is "interesting". It stimulates the brain. Yes, maybe only a tiny amount, but nether-less, it stimulates. For this reason, we laugh, giggle, point out, exhalt, smite, etc. It is all good fun, as Paul said. I can imagine, that even pressing the buttons would stimulate a small amount of the "grey matter". Go on, Bertie. Try it, you might like it! ;D What I fail to understand is people coming on to a message board and posting negatively about others harmless actions. Well, thats actually a lie, because I do understand why, I just thought I'd point that out! *Presses Bertie's "smite" button*!

These posts come so thick and fast it is difficult to keep up, so sorry for harking back.
Alan P, I can't agree. To my mind, the apogee of Pink Floyd was with the production of The Dark Side of the Moon. De gustibus non est disputandum. It was quite a good album, but a rubbish Pink Floyd album.
Pete, Not to mention the best live show in history when they performed The Wall. I remember when people used to say: “Go see Pink Floyd, the music’s amazing!” Then it became all about the show and little else.
As for the karma question. I don’t really see the point of it. It’s a bit like the piece of parsley that dresses your sandwich; best ignored.
G-E.

*ffs* Have you finished with the sackcloth, Alan? Whilst (while?) on the subject, whats the significance of the sackcloth? Vadim, wearing sackcloth and smearing yourself with ashes was a sign of repentance and/or mourning in olden times in some societies. We don't do it now (although religious Jews will often wear deliberately ripped clothes as a sign of mourning) but it gives rise to phrases such as "sackcloth and ashes" and so on. There may be those on this Board who think that your omissions of apostrophes (as from "whats", "others" and "thats" recently) require some repentance on your part, for example.
