Well, thanks to Pete's generosity we bought 50,000 ad-free pageviews for this month; these are about to run out (200 or so left at the time of writing), so it looks like we might not quite make it to the end of the month.
We will be ad-free again in July thanks to an anonymous donor, and again in August. Both these are technically for 50,000 pageviews so I suppose they might not quite last the entire month. It's a testament to how popular (or at least well-viewed) the site is that we are exceeding 50,000 pageviews a month -- I must say that amazes me.
I've turned off ad-free viewing for guests (that is, people who haven't registered) so that their viewing won't use up the 50,000 ad-free pageviews.

We ran out of "ad-free pageviews" at about 9pm on the 27th, so we almost made it!
As I said, the ads will go away again as soon as July starts.

Paul, if we pay more, or start the next $7 earlier, do we get rid of the ads again? No, Pete, not really. Each $7 (which can be made up of multiple smaller amounts) buys 50,000 pageviews in a month. The ads start again when the 50,000 pageviews have been delivered, or when the month ends, whichever comes first. So we could pay another $7 now, which would buy another 50,000 ad-free pageviews, but they would expire on 30th June. So, unless we expect to use 50,000 pageviews over three days (which we don't), it would be $7 poorly spent. I'll be interested to see how far 50,000 ad-free pageviews takes us in July, now I've denied ad-free pages to guests.

I think the ad-free time started June 4th, so roughly three weeks net for the 50,000 page views. More posts per page may change the page-view count with the same number of "looks." Maybe?

More posts per page may change the page-view count with the same number of "looks." Maybe? That's true, good point! So I've made it 15 per page, which many people wanted anyway.

The Ads can be pretty entertaining at times. I'm currently (presently?) seeing one for a book that claims to be able to "Repair Your Marriage: Even if Your Partner is Unwilling. Learn How In 20 Minutes. Guaranteed."
Sounds pretty miraculous to me.

I bet that the part guaranteed is the "learn how in 20 minutes", not the actual repairing of the marriage.

I think 20 minutes is a reasonable period for repairing a marriage. After all, it's 10 times as long as Boris Becker needed to destroy his! ;D
