>I could set up a strictly moderated board easily enough And now I have.<
Now, is it the way my mind works, or is it my computer/VDU? I have only just realized that comments like that are a LINK. I see no visual indication! Are others posting these invisible links? Am I missing some great joys?
Sorry if it's the way my mind works, but I'm used to (or expect) some colour-change/highlight/keyword to indicate that there is something (a link) to click on.
Help!

They are highlighted (highlit?) in blue for me. You need to change that old black-and-white monitor, Tone.

Ditto, Tone, I see them in blue.

>Ditto, Tone, I see them in blue.<OK: It's a colour monitor (LCD), and I've just done a quick Ishihari test (passed with flying colours ), so, HELP, Paul! Tone

The link's blue here too, Tone, but (unlike the APS forum) not underlined.

That may be the root of your problem, Tone: the colours should be stationary.

Twoddle, would you mind not posting one message directly under another? My poor, addled brain went into overdrive, seeing one avatar spinning clockwise and the other anti-clockwise simultaneously! I had to concentrate to make both spin in the same direction!
Now I'll have to go and lie down.

Well, Ishiharo only tests for red/green blindness, Tone, and the links are blue! But if it's not your eyes. it could be your monitor. The links do get a line above and below when you hover the mouse over them, that might help. Does the background make any difference? Here's a link to test: Google.

And here it is on the other background: Google.

And I'll try not to post consecutive messages again, Sue

They definitely spin clockwise (as viewed from the top). Sometimes, when an image is made to "turn" just by being horizontally compressed and then expanded, that will represent turning in either direction. On Twod's avatar, though, there is a definite thickness to the medallion, and we see the edge pass from right to left, across the front of the image, as it turns. You've been doing too many exam papers, Sue!

[...] I can make them spin only in the same direction. What do others see? The two above this post are spinning the same way: right to left (or, if looking from above, clockwise).

When not looking directly at the image, out of the corner of my eye while reading the posts off to the right, I can get the impression of it spinning the opposite direction. Otherwise, I see them spinning the same direction and the same as the rest (except Sue) have described.
