"Strictly Come Fly-tipping" There seems a hint of irony, or mayhap hypocrisy, in someone who manages to rail against the petty hitlers of a council's environmental horde and their silly rules, and then acts like a ... by imposing ... Tone

I'm glad you made it, suvvern! The troops are massing ...
I hope that those who have the time are still dropping in on the APS.
I was wondering whether whoever is in charge of the picture gallery there would be kind enough to remove me from it. I'm quite happy to be photoless at the best of times, but since I'm not still a regular poster there, I really have no business being in that gallery.

Sue, I'll remove your photo fram the APS Reference site, of course, if you wish. I'm at work at the moment but will do it when I get home from work this evening. I'm not too sure of there being much point to the site any more now that we have a properly-working forum, thanks to Paul. Even if we all were to drop in on the original Bravenet forum from time to time I don't suppose we'll be able to call ourselves 'regular posters' there anymore. I also sincerely doubt there'll be any new threads there worth preserving! Is there the ability to create photo albums in this forum software, Paul? I couldn't see any mention in the Help. Alternatively we could create a normal (possibly sticky?) thread and just include the photos in there. If you don't know what I'm talking about, this is the APS Forum Reference Site.

Is there the ability to create photo albums in this forum software, Paul? Only for money.

Alternatively we could create a normal (possibly sticky?) thread and just include the photos in there. We could, but is it worth it? I'm not big on photos anyway, and there is the abililty to have one's pic as an avatar (as you do) so I'd have thought that fills the need. It could be a sub-board, I suppose.

I was just thinking that most of the point of the APS reference site has now gone. We are no longer 'regulars' on the APS board, and it's no longer worth collecting posts from there to salvage from the great bit-bucket. The links page is already pretty much supplanted by this site and the Wiki. All that's left is the gallery.

Well, I thought I might as well play with the forum's poll facility, so I've set up a poll on whether to maintain the gallery here.

Alan, Why not just rename it as The Not-the-APS Gallery and link it to here? I think that the option of the pictures, for those who wish to post them and those who like to see them, is jolly worthwhile (if they are true, of course). After all, I might meet one of you all in the street by chance, one day. That would leave the avatars for those who wish to be choose symbolic (like me), or true (like Paul), or nick a film star's picture (like you). (Why does Firefox's spell chucker object to "star's"?) Sue,
You're removed. Thank you, Alan. (It won't be the first time.) I agree with Paul. If we're keen for people to see our mugshots, we can use them as avatars. Personally, I prefer my owl! Sue

When I go to a barbeque, I go to eat.

Do you go to a barbeque, though, Rick - or a barbecue? ;D
